Certified Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will assist the pharmacist in pharmacy practice and departmental duties, ensuring accurate prescription processing and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers/patients, offer assistance, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, pouring pharmaceutical drugs, and verifying accuracy
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty
• Register all related sales on cash register and handle cash as required
• Process manual claims for third party prescription services in a timely manner
• Provide clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
• Assist with inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals
• Assist with administering clinical services including blood/urine sample collection
• Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing relationships with the local medical community

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
