Certified Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care according to state and federal regulations, focusing on prescription processing, inventory management, and delivering exceptional customer service at Walgreens.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations and Company policies and procedures
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues to ensure a positive customer experience
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, fill prescriptions, and check for possible interactions
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adhere to Quality Improvement Program policies
• Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals
• Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse discrepancies
• Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including collecting and labeling blood/urine samples
• Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills to accurately fill prescriptions
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
