Certified Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Assist the pharmacist in providing pharmacy services according to state and federal regulations, ensuring accurate prescription processing and an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, following state, federal, and Company policies.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers, provide assistance, and resolve issues to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Accurately fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying correctness, and checking interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to quality improvement programs.
• Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing.
• Register sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
