About This Role

Assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care, processing prescriptions, and delivering excellent customer service in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services and resolving issues
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying accuracy, and checking for interactions
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including collection and proper labeling of samples
• Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest developments

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
• PTCB certification or willingness to earn it through designated program

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a retail environment preferred

Nice to Have

• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
