Certified Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, adhering to state, federal, and company regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers, resolve issues, and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including entering patient/drug information and filling prescriptions.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services.
• Assist with inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
• Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including blood/urine sample collection.
• Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community.
• Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
