About This Role

Assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care, managing pharmacy operations, and ensuring a distinctive customer experience in accordance with state, federal, and company regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers and resolving issues
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine accuracy, and checking for interactions
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adhere to Quality Improvement Program
• Adhere to Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all prescription dispensing activities
• Process all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely manner
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a retail environment preferred

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
