Certified Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care, managing pharmacy operations, and ensuring a positive customer experience, while adhering to all state and federal regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers, resolve issues, and ensure a positive customer experience
• Assist in handling telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services
• Support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities (ordering, unpacking, checking, storing)
• Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods
• Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including collection and labeling of blood/urine samples
• Support in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community
• Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through designated training program or state required certification/registration

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
