Certified Medical Assistant

About This Role

This Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) position assists physicians with examinations and procedures for patients, coordinating the flow of patient care and administrative tasks to ensure quality service. The role involves providing professional care within the scope of a Medical Assistant's education and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Commit to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values
• Maintain flow of patients in accordance with time of appointment to avoid delays
• Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected and stocked with necessary supplies
• Obtain vital signs, reason for visit and list of medications from patients and prepares patient for visit
• Assist the medical provider with all examinations and procedures
• Schedule outpatient tests and procedures at hospitals by telephone in a timely manner
• Schedule follow-up procedures/appointments and specialty appointments
• Update patient demographics and immunization forms as needed
• Administer immunizations and medications as directed by medical provider
• Perform patient call processing as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency
• Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• Current listing on the Nebraska Medication Aide registry
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required. Graduation from a Medical Assistant (MA) program preferred.
