About This Role

This role involves greeting and assisting patients, managing check-ins and check-outs according to established procedures, and handling cash transactions. The position requires knowledge of health plan coverage types and communication with clinical and business office staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients
  • Check in patients following policies and procedures, using manual visit records when systems are down
  • Check out patients following policies and procedures, using manual visit records when systems are down, if applicable
  • Follow appropriate procedures for registering exception-type patients (non-members, out-of-area, Medicare, Medi-Cal, industrial)
  • Assist patients by providing general information and explaining co-pays/applicable fees
  • Maintain the patient will-call area box, if applicable
  • Communicate with clinical and business office staff as needed
  • Handle and deposit cash according to the Cash Handling Responsibility Agreement

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Health Plan coverage types (traditional, deductible, etc.)
  • Ability to handle cash and reconcile
