About This Role

The Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages at various Navy Region Naval District Washington Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) locations, including the Naval Academy Alley Club, Golf Course, and athletic events. This role involves managing inventory, maintaining a clean bar area, and providing professional service to members and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve all types of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a full-service bar
  • Receive payment or charge to member's account
  • Assist in taking inventory and maintaining records
  • Keep bar area clean and stocked properly at all times
  • Wash bar equipment, glassware, and utensils
  • Transport kegs weighing over 100 pounds onto a dolly to specified locations

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Skilled in mixing basic drinks
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Must be registered for Selective Service (for males born after December 31, 1959)

Qualifications

  • Minimum one-year experience working with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; restaurant or catering bartending experience preferred.

  • Restaurant or Catering Bartending experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines
