Assistant Store Manager

About This Role

As Assistant Store Manager, you will be second in charge of operations for a specialty retail farm and ranch store. You will lead the store team, deliver a Legendary Customer Experience, and manage operational activities to ensure a safe and productive environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, working varied hours including nights and weekends
• Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA (Greet, Uncover Needs, Recommend, Ask to Add Value & Appreciate)
• Proficiently perform all Team Leader and Receiver functions
• Create and foster a welcoming and inclusive store environment for Team Members and Customers
• Assist Store Manager in Store Operations including driving sales and profit, customer loyalty, planning, prioritization, and delegating daily tasks
• Support Store Manager in Team Member counseling, hiring/staffing decisions, scheduling, training, and maintaining a productive work environment
• Perform Opening/Closing procedures and transport/make bank deposits
• Resolve customer complaints/issues, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Lead freight movement, support merchandising initiatives, feed management, and inventory control
• Operate cash register/computer and supervise cash handling procedures
• Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls
• Operate Forklift and Baler
• Ensure the safety and well-being of birds; sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds
• Assist customers with loading purchases
• Complete all documentation associated with job duties and obtain licenses/certifications as needed

Requirements

• Previous retail leadership experience
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
• Previous retail leadership experience is required.

Nice to Have

• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically
