As Assistant Store Manager, you will be second in charge of operations for a specialty retail farm and ranch store. You will lead the store team, deliver a Legendary Customer Experience, and manage operational activities to ensure a safe and productive environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, working varied hours including nights and weekends
- Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA (Greet, Uncover Needs, Recommend, Ask to Add Value & Appreciate)
- Proficiently perform all Team Leader and Receiver functions
- Create and foster a welcoming and inclusive store environment for Team Members and Customers
- Assist Store Manager in Store Operations including driving sales and profit, customer loyalty, planning, prioritization, and delegating daily tasks
- Support Store Manager in Team Member counseling, hiring/staffing decisions, scheduling, training, and maintaining a productive work environment
- Perform Opening/Closing procedures and transport/make bank deposits
- Resolve customer complaints/issues, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Lead freight movement, support merchandising initiatives, feed management, and inventory control
- Operate cash register/computer and supervise cash handling procedures
- Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls
- Operate Forklift and Baler
- Ensure the safety and well-being of birds; sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds
- Assist customers with loading purchases
- Complete all documentation associated with job duties and obtain licenses/certifications as needed
Requirements
- Previous retail leadership experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to read, write, and count accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
- Previous retail leadership experience is required.
Nice to Have
- Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically
