The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining store operations. This role involves leading team members, managing the store in the Store Manager’s absence, and contributing to recruitment and training.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring execution of customer service programs
- Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing of the retail sales counter during peak business hours
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring individual training completion
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling/participating in interviews, and evaluating candidates
- Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub, and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner
- Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger for efficient handling of special orders and outside purchases
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, ensuring accurate refunds and proper merchandise staging
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks
- Ensure all team members comply with company policies regarding schedules and clocking in/out
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money/deposit verification, and securing the building
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
Nice to Have
- Certified Parts Professional Certification
- ASE Certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
