The Assistant Store Manager assists the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day store operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This role involves supervising and training hourly employees, maintaining operational standards, and fostering excellent guest service.
Responsibilities
- Complete required daily accounting paperwork and transmit by deadline
- Supervise, develop, train, and discipline non-exempt (hourly) employees, holding them accountable for upholding operational standards
- Monitor shift cash handling and inventory, assisting in investigations of shortages/overages
- Maintain business records, review cashier accountability sheets, and records as prescribed by management
- Perform banking, invoicing, payroll, and/or other administrative duties, adhering to cash control policies
- Manage cash management procedures, including bank deposits and change orders
- Maintain Grand Opening Ready Standards according to Global Partner's store image standards
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and sanitation
- Ensure store is secure and safe; comply with all safety and environmental guidelines and report issues
- Ensure adequate gasoline levels and coordinate gasoline deliveries
- Engage in all company promotional initiatives
- Promote a high level of guest service
Requirements
- 1-2 years supervisory experience
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to communicate, count, read, and write accurately
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work in intermittent temperatures (outside, cooler, etc.)
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladder/stairs and lift up to 25 lbs. during a shift
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Vocational or Technical Education High School Diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
