Assistant Store Manager

About This Role

This role is responsible for supporting the daily operations of self-storage locations, ensuring high cleanliness standards, and delivering operational excellence. The Assistant Store Manager builds customer relationships through sales and manages customer accounts.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Ensure highest standards of cleanliness through continuous site maintenance (sweeping, mopping, grounds, office, storage building interiors and exteriors).
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Protect company culture by establishing and maintaining professional relationships with all Extra Space employees.
• Work between multiple stores in the district.

Requirements

• 1+ year of customer-facing work experience
• Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle (except in NYC and Brooklyn)
• High School diploma or GED

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required; college education is a plus.
• 1+ year of customer-facing work experience; sales experience preferred.
