The Assistant Property Manager helps provide affordable housing by communicating problems, processing re-certifications, and managing rent collection. This role is crucial for creating a safe and stable environment for residents and expanding a career in property management.
Responsibilities
- Communicate all problems and special cases and make recommendations to the Property Manager and Property Supervisor
- Process re-certifications, including interviews, form assistance, information processing, rent calculations, and lease preparation
- Inspect site grounds and common hallways regularly
- Monitor make-ready status of vacant apartments
- Conduct housekeeping home visits and marketing outreach to local agencies and businesses
- Act as a liaison and advocate on behalf of residents to public and private agencies
- Execute rent collection program and follow-up procedures for delinquent rent and evictions
Requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and property management software
- Affordable housing leasing experience (2-year minimum)
- Experience working with the Tax Credit program/affordable housing
- Good communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English/Spanish
- Confident, positive attitude and manner
- Able to interact effectively with wide range of people
Qualifications
- High school diploma (minimum)
- 2+ years of affordable housing leasing experience

- 2-year or 4-year degree
