About This Role

This role supports the Dining Services Director in leading a culinary team to provide high-quality, nutritious meals for senior residents. The Assistant Dining Services Director balances administrative tasks like scheduling and inventory with hands-on kitchen and dining room leadership. This position ensures dining operations focus on hospitality, safety, and healthcare regulations, providing an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Dining Services Director in leading the culinary team
  • Provide high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals for residents
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling and inventory management
  • Lead hands-on in the kitchen and dining room
  • Ensure dining operations adhere to hospitality, safety, and healthcare regulations
  • Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals in a safe and sanitary manner, in accordance with Public Health Regulations and Sanitation Code
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, meeting HACCP, local health department, and state regulatory requirements
  • Practice safe usage of all equipment and perform cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance as outlined in schedules
  • Set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes in the dining rooms daily

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of culinary or dining management experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or high-end hospitality
  • Current ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Active and valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to work varied shifts and weekends
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, ordering systems)
  • Passion for serving the senior population
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Ability to stand and walk short distances throughout the day
  • Ability to tolerate heat from the kitchen
  • Food safety compliant

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of culinary or dining management experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or high-end hospitality
