About This Role

Perform x-ray testing using knowledge of anatomy and physiology, operate diagnostic equipment, and prepare rooms while also carrying out Medical Assistant duties in an urgent care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly greet patients when entering waiting area, exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room
  • Consistently communicate with patients on wait times; provide direction to the next step in the treatment process
  • Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize and seek help in emergent/hazardous situations
  • Execute follow-up calls with a sense of urgency
  • Assist front desk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary
  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs and weight, take brief history, past medical, family and social history current medications, allergies and other pertinent historical information as appropriate
  • Assist with patient transfers
  • Assist with procedures directly supervised by the provider
  • Perform timely radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician
  • Perform necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams are performed
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow established clinical and regulatory procedures in regards to patient safety and care; including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques
  • Ensure that equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions to the Manager or provider on duty
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining and improving diagnostic imaging knowledge and skills with the support and assistance of outside educational resources
  • Responsible for maintaining current licensure and certification for the facility radiology equipment and licensure

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS Certification
  • AR State X-Ray License

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

  • ARRT Certification
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant
