Armed Security Specialist

About This Role

This role is for an Armed Security Specialist responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients in the Greater Lansing, MI area. Specialists will perform critical security duties including customer service, observation, reporting, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service, assisting clients, visitors, and coworkers while maintaining a professional demeanor
• Observe and report suspicious activities and incidents
• Maintain a professional appearance and presence in and around building lobbies, reception areas, and control centers
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas, performing security officer duties as required
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas by checking IDs and following proper access procedures
• Enforce policies and procedures of assigned locations and report any safety concerns
• Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel
• Maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through with client requests, and update site supervisors

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Must be a current holder of a valid, unexpired Michigan CPL
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to pass a criminal background check with no felony or relevant misdemeanor convictions
• Ability to pass a psychological evaluation
• Ability to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter
• Friendly, positive, professional image adhering to appearance and grooming policy
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read and write in English and interpret documents
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work indoors or outdoors in any weather conditions for 8-12 hours
• Ability to lift 70lbs
