The Area Sales Manager develops and oversees the sales strategy, managing sales staff to drive sales growth and expand the customer base for TÜV Rheinland Group.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to TRNA procedures as defined in various standards and rules
- Establish and drive sales teams to meet and exceed sales targets
- Oversee sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes
- Allocate sales quotas efficiently across all channels and resources
- Ensure timely assignment and communication of sales objectives to team members
- Identify and pursue new customer opportunities and market growth potential
- Provide ongoing training and support to the sales team and management
- Assist with the administration of sales incentive compensation programs
- Ensure consistent execution of company initiatives across the region
- Foster strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and management teams
- Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Management Systems (ISO 19011, ISO 17021, Aerospace Standard/Rules, IATF Standard/Rules)
- Strong project/time management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work under constraints, pressure, and meet deadlines
- Proactive, self-disciplined, and able to work in teams and/or independently
- Self-motivated and committed to building a profitable business
- Track Record of high sales volumes and consistent quota achievement
- Experience selling in the midmarket space (medium to large deals sizes)
- Experience with complex contract negotiation
- Growth mindset and collaborative with teammates
- Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to analyze data, monitor sales performance, and make data-driven decisions
- Strong understanding of sales operations, process management
- Familiarity with sales tools and Salesforce software
- 3+ years as a sales hunter or in a similar role focused on new business acquisition
- 5+ years in sales with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role
- 3+ years proven experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and planning
- 2+ years experience optimizing sales processes and implementing best practices
Qualifications
- BS, technical degree or equivalent
- 3+ years as a sales hunter or in new business acquisition, 5+ years in sales with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role, 3+ years in sales forecasting/budgeting/planning, and 2+ years optimizing sales processes.
