About This Role

This Area Sales Manager role involves developing and implementing sales and business development strategies to increase market penetration and revenue within the T4 Region. The manager will lead a team of 7 direct reports, manage $100 million in sales, and build strong relationships with key customer decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales/business development strategies and programs to increase market penetration and revenue
  • Manage a business of $100 million in sales with 7 direct reports
  • Work with Sales and Marketing teams to formulate and develop sales plans
  • Appraise and evaluate market conditions on an on-going basis and initiate appropriate actions
  • Hire, train, develop, motivate, and retain qualified sales staff
  • Oversee and execute the proposal management process from opportunity identification to contract award
  • Establish and grow business relationships with key customer decision makers
  • Identify and develop strong relationships and appropriately utilize advocates
  • Compile and report significant sales activity

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience
  • Knowledge of Public Safety solutions (NextGen 9-1-1, CAD, Records, LMR, Public Safety LTE, analytics)
  • Background with public safety experience in Police, Fire, EMS work
  • Excellent understanding of government budget legislation; acquisition regulation/appropriations/funding
  • Prior experience in distribution management
  • Ability to quickly acquire business knowledge of customers and interpret customer needs
  • Ability to develop and articulate winning sales strategies
  • Ability to take personal responsibility and initiative to design unique solutions
  • Ability to be proactive, innovative, and use creative thinking to solve customer problems

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience without a degree
