About This Role

This role involves planning, designing, and implementing programs to reduce underage and dangerous drinking, promoting responsible alcohol consumption, and assisting with the management of grants for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement programs, trainings, and initiatives to reduce underage and dangerous drinking.
  • Promote responsible consumption by those of legal age to consume alcohol.
  • Assist the supervisor of the Bureau of Alcohol Education's Education and Grants Management Division to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Convey, interpret, and explain grant services, objectives, policies, and procedures to various stakeholders.
  • Review and score grant applications for adherence to requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate grantee performance through report review and fiscal expenditures.
  • Review and monitor grant expenditures using spreadsheets and databases for budgetary projections.
  • Monitor grantee's expenditure of funds to ensure fiscal accountability and accuracy.
  • Establish, direct, and monitor objectives and activities associated with the grants.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to monitor compliance with grant agreements.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Alcohol Education Specialist Trainee program; OR
  • One year of professional teaching, classroom instruction, or formal training experience AND a bachelor’s degree; OR
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of professional teaching, classroom instruction, or formal training experience
  • PA residency requirement
  • Ability to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a background investigation (no felony conviction within the last ten years)
  • Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports (PA State Police, PA Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprint clearance)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • One year of professional teaching, classroom instruction, or formal training experience, or successful completion of the Alcohol Education Specialist Trainee program.
