Account Manager - Commercial Lines

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial lines business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. This role coordinates administrative and customer service activities, resolves complex issues, and maintains data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities
• Resolve complex issues and ensure no errors or omissions in policies
• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial lines insurance
• Direct daily activities of the account management team
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, including conducting client research and preparing submissions
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and collect outstanding balances
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion of tasks
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and issues
• Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures, seeking best practices for improvement

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active P&C license
• Experience with commercial trucking or transportation accounts
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
