Account Manager - Commercial Lines

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial lines business, focusing on trucking and transportation accounts, to ensure account retention and support new business. This role involves coordinating administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues, and maintaining data accuracy within agency systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities
• Resolve complex issues and ensure no errors or omissions in tasks
• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial lines
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, including client research and proposal presentations
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and collect outstanding balances on delinquent accounts
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion of tasks
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and issues

Requirements

• Active P&C license
• Experience with commercial trucking or transportation accounts
• 3+ years of account management experience OR 5+ years in the insurance industry

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry

Nice to Have

• Epic experience
• Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
