About This Role

This X-Ray Technologist position involves performing x-ray testing, operating diagnostic equipment, and preparing rooms with necessary supplies. The role also includes Medical Assistant duties and requires knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement using knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, develop film, and prepare the room with necessary equipment and supplies
  • Perform Medical Assistant duties
  • Promptly greet patients when entering waiting area, exam room, laboratory or x-ray room
  • Communicate with patients on wait times and provide direction to the next step in the treatment process
  • Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize/seek help in emergent/hazardous situations
  • Execute follow-up calls with a sense of urgency
  • Assist front desk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary
  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, weight, brief history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent historical information
  • Assist with patient transfers and procedures directly supervised by the provider
  • Perform timely radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician
  • Perform necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams are performed
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow established clinical and regulatory procedures regarding patient safety and care
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions
  • Maintain and improve diagnostic imaging knowledge and skills with educational resources
  • Maintain current licensure and certification for facility radiology equipment and licensure

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS Certification
  • AR State X-Ray License

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

  • ARRT Certification
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant
