Women's Soccer Head Coach, UM Grizzly Athletics

About This Role

Instruct, guide, and teach college women's soccer student-athletes in skills, processes, philosophies, and plans of soccer. This role also involves public relations, recruiting, and development work for the program.

Responsibilities

• Promote an atmosphere for compliance within the program and monitor activities of assistant coaches regarding NCAA rules compliance
• Promote the team, program, and University professionally, fostering positive working relationships with staff
• Plan and implement a sound preseason training program in coordination with strength and conditioning staff
• Plan team practices to maximize time, effort, safety, and skill
• Develop a balanced and challenging competition schedule
• Monitor and encourage academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring their graduation
• Provide for the physical and mental safety and welfare of team members
• Work with athletic trainers to ensure team members have physical exams and athletic training needs met
• Prepare yearly team budget and equipment requests
• Recruit and retain outstanding athletes who can be academically successful at UM
• Deal effectively with public and booster groups to promote the sports program
• Share information from head coach's meetings with assistant coaches and other sports staff
• Supervise two full-time assistant coaches and one part-time assistant coach

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of collegiate soccer coaching experience
• Proven ability to recruit high quality student-athletes
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge and experience with NCAA rules and regulations
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people
• Strong organizational skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of five (5) years of collegiate soccer coaching experience

Nice to Have

• Head coaching experience
• Coaching experience at the Big Sky Conference (Division I) level
• Experience recruiting in the Northwest
