About This Role

The Welder will work under the direction of a Foreman, performing industrial maintenance, turnaround, construction, or mechanical tasks within a refinery environment. This role involves ensuring high levels of accuracy, adhering to safety standards, and maintaining various equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Represent the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
  • Perform duties within a precise limit or standard of accuracy (Quality Control).
  • Prepare Job Hazard Analyses and serve as designated safety watch to ensure adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Perform rigging, signaling, and flagging for heavy-construction lifts.
  • Remove and replace exchangers, vessels, pumps, and related equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Dismantle and reinstall piping systems while ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Service vessels, tower internals, fin fans, and coolers to ensure reliable performance and regulatory adherence.
  • Perform maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation in compliance with company standards.
  • Perform demolition activities and execute oxy‑fuel cutting operations in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Operate forklifts, extenda booms, and bundle trucks to support construction and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Train and supervise apprentices as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ maintenance experience in refinery environment.
  • Thorough understanding of industrial maintenance type work and expertise in basic hand tools.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
  • Able to assemble and disassemble refinery equipment.
  • Able to proficiently run several types of equipment (forklifts, manlifts, etc.).
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
  • Ability to logically diagnose and solve complex equipment issues independently.
  • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination for working with small parts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Ability to pass an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Craft proficiency test at or above 70%.
  • Ability to complete the Company’s Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client/Site specific training.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain active status within the appropriate drug testing program.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • MUST have TWIC card.
