About This Role

The Welder II is responsible for performing various welding, cutting, and gouging operations to fabricate and repair pressure vessels, adhering to safety regulations and quality specifications. This role involves reading blueprints, interpreting engineering specifications, and performing equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant safety rules and regulations
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance tasks and equipment checklists
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job routings, and Standard Engineering Specifications
  • Properly assemble heads, shells, and flanges for circumferential seam welding
  • Perform all kinds of welding, cutting, and gouging operations applicable to the company to fabricate and repair pressure vessels
  • Handset couplings, flanges, pipe nipples, legs, brackets, and braces within specified tolerances
  • Record required information on proper forms relating to specific fabrication practices
  • Pneumatic test doubler pads and pressure vessels when required
  • Dye penetrant inspect and repair joggled shells; successfully complete dye penetrant certification
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts for material handling

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations
  • Basic understanding of computers
  • Reading, writing, and simple math skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment
  • At least 1 year of working experience in an industrial based environment, or High School diploma/GED.
