Weekend Only Licensed Practical Nurse

About This Role

Crouse Community Center seeks compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide high-quality care to residents on weekends. This role focuses on medication administration, resident monitoring, and supervising CNAs while maintaining a safe and compassionate environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments using the Six Rights of Medication Pass
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all medications, including refusals or missed doses
• Maintain strict confidentiality of resident information
• Count and verify narcotics with another Medication Care Nurse
• Monitor residents’ conditions and assess needs for optimal care
• Review and update the Daily Log to stay informed of resident status
• Report resident concerns to the Nurse Manager during medication rounds
• Oversee and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as needed
• Practice standard precautions for hygiene and infection control

Requirements

• Current license to practice as an LPN in New York State
• Eligible to work in LTC per NYS HCS guidelines
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and remain calm in challenging situations
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Passion for serving and caring for seniors

Qualifications

• Long-term care experience preferred
