Water-Wastewater Project Manager

About This Role

Serve as a Project Manager with expertise in water/wastewater engineering, guiding multi-discipline teams through planning, design, and construction projects. You will also contribute to business development and mentor junior staff, growing into a leadership position within GAI's Florida Water Division.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and guide multi-discipline teams on water and wastewater planning, evaluation, design, and construction projects
• Manage projects from inception through construction and start-up, including client coordination, scope, schedule and budget management, and quality assurance/quality control
• Provide technical execution and oversight of design projects including preliminary design, final design, specifications, permitting, and construction contract document production
• Lead water/wastewater consulting tasks, including flow projections, hydraulic modeling, master planning, detailed design calculations, and CIP development
• Mentor and develop junior staff for both technical and project management knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Contribute to business development activities, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and client relationship cultivation
• Serve as a primary doer/seller for the Florida Water Division, becoming a key GAI representative to clients and professional organizations

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the municipal water/wastewater market
• 2+ years of experience serving as a Project Manager
• Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and leadership skills
• Experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, 3D BIM Revit, ArcGIS
• Experience with industry hydraulic modeling software such as InfoWater and SewerGEMs
• Professional Engineer (PE) license

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of experience in the municipal water/wastewater market, including master planning, hydraulic modeling, and design of conveyance and treatment systems, with at least 2 years in a Project Manager role leading multi-discipline teams.

Nice to Have

• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years as engineer-of-record for water/wastewater projects
• Experience with delivery of cross-market projects
• Trenchless pipeline design, permitting, and construction experience
• Facility and pipeline condition assessment field and data management experience
• Experience with 3D Utility Modeling for design of underground pipeline systems and treatment plant facilities
• Alternative project delivery experience (Design-Build, CMAR, Design Criteria Professional)
• Successful client management/business development experience in North Florida
• Master's degree in Engineering or related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
