About This Role

This role involves leading the Mergers & Acquisitions team, actively participating in all stages of the M&A lifecycle from origination to integration. The VP will manage complex M&A processes, including valuation, diligence, and negotiations, while also contributing to the strategic growth of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Gather industry intelligence for origination and outreach, working directly with the Chief Acquisition Officer (CAO)
  • Maintain professional relationships with external partners to build long-standing connections
  • Oversee the accuracy of diligence, financial analyses, and data books as the "last line of defense"
  • Create financial spreads using general ledgers and creatively solve complex problems with limited information
  • Lead quality of earnings and other due diligence workstreams
  • Draft indications of interest and letters of intent
  • Aggregate, review, and summarize diligence findings across functional areas
  • Identify and quantify synergies with CAO, Integration Management Office (IMO), and leadership
  • Assist CAO and legal counsel in drafting purchase agreements and ancillary documents
  • Run diligence calls with sellers in a patient and affable manner
  • Prepare high-quality presentations that communicate complex ideas succinctly and accurately
  • Create whitepapers and reports supporting the M&A strategy and conduct proactive research
  • Track and maintain transaction "comps" related to industry M&A activity

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, or accounting
  • 3+ years of M&A transaction experience
  • Experience managing quality of earnings, reviewing financial audits, stratifying general ledgers, and building EBITDA
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP and three statement financial models
  • Highly proficient at Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Real world experience with valuation methodologies (DCF, comparable company analyses, comparable transaction analyses)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly analytical, self-motivated, and detail oriented

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA or Masters in Accounting will be valued)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, or accounting, including 3+ years of M&A transaction experience
