About This Role

Operate ultrasound equipment to create high-quality images of the body, providing timely and professional patient care. This role requires independent judgment in assessing emergency situations and assisting physicians with various procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body
• Accomplish patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner
• Think and act independently and assess emergency situations accurately
• Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a variety of patients
• Utilize sterile techniques and assist physicians as necessary
• Function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies
• Routinely work within another qualifying ARDMS specialty ultrasound certification as directed by department managers/supervisors
• Participate in section QA programs as necessary and complete required educational guidelines

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
• ARDMS or ARRT Registry in Ultrasound at time of hire
• Vascular Ultrasound Registry from either ARDMS, ARRT or CCI upon time of hire
• Ability to complete required CEU’s to maintain certification
• BCLS certified
• Routinely work within another qualifying ARDMS specialty ultrasound certification (e.g., Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echo, Neurosonology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
• None required, 12 months previous experience in ultrasound preferred

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related profession
• ARDMS in multiple specialties
• 12 months previous experience in ultrasound
