Operate ultrasound equipment to create high-quality images of the body, providing timely and professional patient care. This role requires independent judgment in assessing emergency situations and assisting physicians with various procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body
- Accomplish patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner
- Think and act independently and assess emergency situations accurately
- Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a variety of patients
- Utilize sterile techniques and assist physicians as necessary
- Function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies
- Routinely work within another qualifying ARDMS specialty ultrasound certification as directed by department managers/supervisors
- Participate in section QA programs as necessary and complete required educational guidelines
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
- ARDMS or ARRT Registry in Ultrasound at time of hire
- Vascular Ultrasound Registry from either ARDMS, ARRT or CCI upon time of hire
- Ability to complete required CEU’s to maintain certification
- BCLS certified
- Routinely work within another qualifying ARDMS specialty ultrasound certification (e.g., Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echo, Neurosonology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography)
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
- None required, 12 months previous experience in ultrasound preferred
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related profession
- ARDMS in multiple specialties
- 12 months previous experience in ultrasound
