The Clinical Lab Assistant II performs various laboratory functions including clerical, computer, specimen accessioning and processing, phlebotomy, and other specimen collections. This role acts as a liaison between clients and laboratory departments, ensuring smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and computer functions related to laboratory testing
- Accession and process specimens
- Perform a variety of phlebotomy techniques
- Assist with other specimen collections
- Perform specified waived testing as required
- Represent the organization in inpatient or outpatient settings
- Serve as the liaison between the client (Patient, physicians, nursing, etc.) and the laboratory departments
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare setting as Laboratory assistant, Phlebotomist or Clerk
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare setting as Laboratory assistant, Phlebotomist or Clerk; 1 year experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
Nice to Have
- Associates Degree
- ASPT or ASCP Certification
- 1 year experience in a healthcare environment
