Urgent Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants will provide a wide variety of clinical services including treating acute episodic conditions, minor injuries, making diagnoses, and prescribing medications. This role requires excellent assessment skills to recognize serious conditions and direct patients to emergency care when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Examine and treat patients
- Take patients' medical histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Make diagnoses and prescribe medications
- Treat minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Record progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educate and counsel patients
- Give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care
- Work anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift
Requirements
- One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care setting (or 2 years Family Medicine)
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
- Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting
- Ability to perform applicable office procedures including suturing, splinting, casting
- Ability to perform preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants, Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
- One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care setting experience required. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.

- Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
