Radiologic Technologist

About This Role

The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants to examine and treat Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing technical procedures and applying ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants through various tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication
• Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, including applying X-ray energy for diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups
• Perform and analyze patient X-rays and report results to Medical Providers
• Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers
• Responsible for X-ray services as needed under the direction of the clinical provider
• Ensure patients are positioned correctly and protected during X-ray use
• Prepare patients for examination, including verifying information, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit
• Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed
• Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide patient information to provider
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• ARRT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred
