Radiologic Technologist

About This Role

Operate and maintain radiologic equipment to perform safe and accurate imaging, assisting physicians with diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role ensures proper patient positioning, image clarity, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Properly and efficiently set up and operate radiologic equipment for medical diagnosis and treatment
• Position patients to safely and accurately obtain X-rays as ordered by the provider
• Review X-ray images for clarity and retake them when needed
• Adjust radiographic controls to specifications for proper timing of exposure using ALARA principles
• Maintain quality control checks to ensure equipment meets legal standards
• Assist with yearly state inspection of equipment and facility
• Clean, maintain, and perform minor adjustments to radiologic equipment, including evaluation for repairs
• Protect patient/families, self, and other staff from radiologic hazards and ensure patient safety when using equipment
• Provide patients with CD of X-ray when requested or ordered by the provider and document appropriate charges in EMR
• Complete accurate, concise documentation in the patient's chart in a timely manner

Requirements

• Knowledge of principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedure
• Knowledge of how disease and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically
• Knowledge of human anatomy
• Ability to set up, operate, clean, and troubleshoot radiographic equipment
• Ability to notice detail in drawings and differences in shapes and shading
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or Certificate of Completion of Radiologic Technology from an accredited school
• 1+ year experience as a Radiology Technologist (preferred), pediatric experience (preferred)
