About This Role

A Universal Banker at Hancock Whitney acquires, manages, and retains client relationships by proactively fulfilling financial needs through consultative sales and service. This role focuses on building strong, lasting relationships, discovering financial needs, and tailoring product solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing clients and prospects by meeting, in person and over the phone, to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Proactively educate clients on alternate delivery methods and channels, including emerging technology and digital solutions
  • Refer clients to other business partners to provide specialized financial needs assistance
  • Apply product and procedural knowledge to solve client problems appropriately and efficiently
  • Process a variety of routine and complex transactions for Financial Center clients, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payment processing
  • Drive proactive sales conversations through outside interactions and financial needs assessment to meet assigned sales goals
  • Leverage ecosystem partnerships and community centers of influence to acquire, expand, and retain relationships
  • Assist in managing the lobby by actively engaging, greeting, and directing client lobby traffic
  • Support the Bank's strong risk management culture through awareness, knowledge, and sound decision making
  • Ensure operational and financial safety and soundness

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year sales and client service experience in a professional environment or Bachelor's degree with cash handling and customer service experience
  • Proven ability to form and expand client relationships
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple banking systems and applications
  • NMLS registration under the SAFE Act of 2008

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1 year sales and client service experience in a professional environment; prior banking experience highly preferred or Bachelor’s degree and cash handling and customer service experience in retail or financial institution
