Territory Manager

About This Role

The Territory Manager will manage all aspects of development, growth, and profitability for Southern Trust Insurance Company's business in the assigned Tennessee territory. This role involves agency management, development, and retention, new agency prospecting, and managing profit and loss for assigned independent agents.

Responsibilities

• Construct detailed sales outlines and comprehensive sales plans for independent agencies, focusing on production and profitability.
• Focus appointment efforts on agencies capable of producing profitable volume and fitting Southern Trust's agent profile.
• Continually review agencies for improvement or potential termination based on volume, profitability, or sustained viability.
• Identify and train new agents/CSRs on Southern Trust products and services.
• Coordinate agency events, luncheons, and general agent appreciation events.
• Represent the company at business conventions and/or conferences.
• Complete comprehensive sales reports.
• Manage and communicate agency problems with various Home Office departments.
• Prepare weekly itineraries for agency visits to address production, loss ratio, submission quality, and other general agency issues.
• Assist in planning Continuing Education events.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience as a Marketing Representative or Territory Manager for an insurance company
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field
• Property and Casualty Insurance Marketing experience
• Working knowledge of Office 365, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to travel within assigned territory
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Knowledgeable in understanding local market and insurance products
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field
• 3 years of experience as a Marketing Representative or Territory Manager for an insurance company

Nice to Have

• Resident of Tennessee or live in close proximity to Nashville TN
• Hold or actively pursuing insurance-related designations (e.g., CIC, CPCU, CRM, AU)
