Telepharmacy Technician

About This Role

This Telepharmacy Technician role focuses on daily pharmacy operations under Pharmacist oversight, delivering operational and service excellence while ensuring patient safety and satisfaction in a Remote Dispensing Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists and pharmacy team manage and improve patient health
• Oversee the safe and secure operation of the Remote Dispensing Pharmacy, including keyholder responsibilities, managing alarm and safe codes, and protecting product integrity
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Complete tasks related to controlled substance prescription fulfillment, including counting, capturing images, maintaining inventory, and additional CII fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating personalized moments, offering immunizations and other services, and resolving patient problems
• Complete inventory activities, as permitted by law, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stocks
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
• Serve as a peer mentor for the onboarding, training, and development of new hires in the Telepharmacy Remote Dispensing Pharmacy
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, as well as CVS policies and procedures
• Deliver additional patient health care services when the pharmacist is on-site (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowable by law and training

Requirements

• Comply with all state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy
• Be at least 18 years of age (if not mandated by state board of pharmacy)
• High school diploma or equivalent (if not mandated by state board of pharmacy)
• National Certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
• State-level licensure requirements
• 1+ years full-time experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program (if not mandated by state board of pharmacy)
• 1+ years full-time experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Nice to Have

• CVS Pharmacy Technician experience
• Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv)
• Ability to become immunization certified
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Experience in an Inventory Specialist role
• Ability to work across the market in other locations
