Telemetry Registered Nurse

About This Role

Provide specialized telemetry nursing care with a strong cardiac background, managing patients pre and post cardiac catheterization, administering cardiac drips, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. This contract role in Liberty, MO, requires night shifts and advanced skills in telemetry nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive telemetry nursing care on a specialized cardiac float pool night shift
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips and manage patients pre and post cardiac catheterization
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, including infection control and COVID-19 protocols
• Adapt to changes in patient assignments with flexibility and professionalism

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of true telemetry experience with a focus on cardiac care
• Proficient in titrating drips and caring for patients with sheaths, especially pre/post cardiac cath patients
• Proven experience with Cerner charting system
• Current RN license in Missouri or Compact state
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), CPI, NIHSS
• Must be able to float across units as needed
• Previous travel nursing experience required (not first-time travelers)
• Ability to manage COVID-19 patients confidently
• Successful completion of an orientation EKG exam (80% or higher, focusing on lethal rhythms)
• 8 Telemetry-specific CEUs in cardiac care
• 8 Telemetry-specific CEUs in stroke care

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of true telemetry experience with a focus on cardiac care. Previous travel nursing experience required.
