Special Ed Teacher

About This Role

This contract role offers special education professionals an opportunity to support diverse learners in K-12 settings within a South Carolina school district, managing classrooms for both early childhood and high school students.

Responsibilities

• Manage a PreK self-contained special education classroom serving 3-4 year olds
• Provide instruction and support for high school resource special education students (approximately 22-25 students)
• Potentially oversee a high school self-contained special education classroom with about 10 students
• Perform duties that may include lifting and other physical demands associated with classroom support
• Collaborate with school staff to meet the individualized needs of students

Requirements

• Active South Carolina teaching license with Multi-Categorical (Multi-Cat) and Early Childhood endorsements
• Experience working with special education students in self-contained and resource settings
• Ability to manage classrooms for both early childhood and high school special education learners
• Strong commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
