This role is responsible for the continuous monitoring and analysis of cardiac rhythms, ensuring timely communication with nursing units about patient status and equipment needs. You will interpret and document cardiac rhythms, troubleshoot telemetry equipment, and contribute to patient care within the Cardiovascular and Neurosciences teams.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and conduct arrhythmia analysis
- Interpret and document cardiac rhythms according to patient care algorithms and quality assurance standards
- Communicate with nursing units regarding patient's rhythm status and changes
- Communicate with nursing units regarding telemetry equipment needs, issues, and concerns
- Perform troubleshooting of telemetry equipment on the nursing units
- Participate in the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) process
- Work closely with nursing units whose patients are being monitored through the remote telemetry program
- Conduct a systematic review of history alarms and scan 24-hour data for abnormalities
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of ECG interpretation demonstrated by an advanced arrhythmia exam
- Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and abnormal heart rhythms
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the continuous quality improvement process
- Remote Telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience
