Telecom Central Office Travel Technician

About This Role

Central Office Telecommunications Technicians are sought to decommission various locations and will be responsible for securing and wiping data, dismantling equipment, and managing asset inventory and disposal. This role requires extensive travel for several months at a time, working in different states.

Responsibilities

• Secure and wipe data
• Dismantle and remove equipment
• Inventory assets
• Dispose of assets
• Remove furniture and junk
• Perform repairs
• Conduct a final walkthrough
• Return keys

Requirements

• Several years of experience in central offices
• Hands-on experience providing telecommunications support

Qualifications

• Several years of experience working in central offices and hands-on telecommunications support.

Nice to Have

• Ability to log into telecommunications equipment (DWDM, SONET, Routers, Switches, MUXes)
• Fiber Optics experience (Running jumpers, clean fiber)
• Experience with test equipment (OTDRs, test sets)
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
