Data Center Technician I

About This Role

As a Data Center Technician I, you will be the primary resolver for complex hardware infrastructure issues within Amazon's Data Centers. This role involves troubleshooting, physical repair, documentation, and potentially automating tasks, supporting a rapidly expanding team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware infrastructure issues
• Create and maintain documentation on supported technologies
• Pass down knowledge of technologies to junior staff
• Perform basic to intermediate system administration tasks remotely
• Automate tasks with scripts when necessary
• Execute small projects autonomously and assist with larger local projects
• Act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians
• Install hardware and network equipment
• Innovate solutions and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space

Requirements

• Ability to exhibit good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to function well under pressure with multiple priorities
• Basic understanding of Computer Hardware & Computer Networking
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations

Qualifications

• Entry level position

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
• Advanced understanding of Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills
