Team Leader

About This Role

This Team Leader role assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in executing operational, sales, and merchandising objectives by providing a Legendary Customer Experience. The position also involves promoting a safe work environment and training Team Members on policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, working varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate
• Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA (Greet, Uncover Needs, Recommend, Ask to Add Value & Appreciate)
• Execute assigned basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities
• Perform Opening/Closing procedures and transport/make deposits to bank
• Assess store conditions, assign duties, and organize workflow using a daily planner
• Perform merchandise recovery and participate in mandatory freight process
• Perform regular and promotional price change activities
• Resolve customer complaints/issues to ensure a Legendary shopping experience
• Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls as needed
• Communicate with Team Members on job functions, responsibilities, and financial goals
• Operate cash register/computer supervising cash handling procedures
• Assist Team Members on appropriate application of policies and procedures
• Ensure the safety and well-being of birds, sanitize holding tanks, and care for birds
• Operate Forklift and Baler
• Complete all documentation associated with job duties and obtain licenses/certifications as needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately
• Ability to perform and execute principle responsibilities of Team Members

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required
• Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
