Assistant Manager

About This Role

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a specialty retail farm and ranch store, serving as the second in charge of operations to the Store Manager. This role involves delivering exceptional customer experiences, providing leadership to the store team, and conducting operational activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and uphold a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA (Greet, Uncover Needs, Recommend Solutions, Add Value, Appreciate).
• Assist Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including driving sales and profit, customer loyalty, planning, prioritization, and delegating daily tasks.
• Support the Store Manager in Team Member counseling, hiring/staffing decisions, scheduling, and training.
• Perform Opening/Closing procedures and transport/make bank deposits.
• Resolve customer complaints/issues and ensure a positive and differentiated shopping experience.
• Lead freight movement and support merchandising initiatives, feed management, and inventory control.
• Operate cash register/computer and supervise cash handling procedures, adhering to loss prevention standards.
• Operate Forklift and Baler, ensure safety of birds, sanitize poultry tanks, and assist customers with loading purchases.
• Obtain any necessary licenses or certifications as required by the business.

Requirements

• Previous retail leadership experience
• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
• Previous retail leadership experience is required. Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
