About This Role

This elementary school teacher role involves providing leadership in the educational environment to encourage and nurture learning for all students. The teacher will supervise, monitor, and evaluate students while developing lesson plans to meet all student needs.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards.
• Assist school administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Create a culture of effectiveness by setting high standards and expectations for all students.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Create a classroom environment that provides for student engagement in the learning process.
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and district objectives.
• Diagnose the learning challenges of students and maintain accurate records for IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to assess students' progress.
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and encourage parent involvement.
• Participate in professional development focused on acquiring and improving skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligibility
• Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum principles, standards, and expectations
• Knowledge of how to utilize appropriate data and information for instructional decisions
• Skilled in communication, both verbal and written
• Skilled in computers and software including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
