The Expanded Impact Teacher (EIT4) expands their reach to impact more students by performing 3-4 formal instructional leadership responsibilities in addition to regular teaching duties. This role involves planning, delivering instruction, and closely monitoring student progress in collaboration with school leadership and a multi-classroom leader.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Set high expectations of achievement that are ambitious and measurable for students
- Plan backward to align all lessons, activities and assessments in designated subject(s)
- Design in-person instruction that is enriched and personalized
- Hold students accountable for high expectations of behavior and engagement
- Create physical classroom environments conducive to collaborative and individual learning
- Identify and address social, emotional and behavioral learning needs and barriers of individual students
- Incorporate small-group and individual instruction to personalize and tailor instruction to individual needs
- Monitor and analyze student assessment data to inform enriched instruction
- Informally mentor and lead peers, especially in instructional planning and differentiating instruction
- Provide coaching support to teammates, spending no more than 50% of instructional day coaching
- Maintain regular communication with families to design learning and encourage success
- Participate in professional development opportunities at school and district level
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of prior teaching experience with 2 years demonstrated evidence of high-progress student outcomes
- Evidence of initiative and effective leadership/coaching of adults
- Must be in the Teacher Leader Talent Pool with a maximum role determination of MCL1
- NC Professional Educator's License in the appropriate subject and grade level
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of prior teaching experience with 2 years demonstrated evidence of high-progress student outcomes in relevant subjects
