The System Engineer III supports Aircrew Training System and Contractor Logistics Support programs by performing systems engineering, project engineering, subcontractor management, modification design, logistics engineering, and proposal preparation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Analyze technical requirements and develop specifications and Statements of Work for ATS/CLS program components.
- Review and edit Statements of Work, Specifications, and technical documents.
- Support program management and logistics functions through analyses and trade studies.
- Prepare cost estimates and technical text for ATS, CLS proposals, and ECPs.
- Perform subcontractor/vendor technical design reviews and audits.
- Participate in customer technical interchange meetings, audits, and program reviews.
- Prepare subcontractor/vendor specifications and Statement of Work for RFPs and subcontracts.
- Perform technical evaluations of proposals received and prepare recommendations for upper management.
- Support modification projects, including cost and schedule management and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
- 8 years of aircrew training system or flight simulation device experience
- Experience with military/Department of Defense engineering standards
- Knowledge of specification and configuration management practices
- DOD work in life-cycle engineering activities (requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test and delivery of hardware and software systems)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or four years, combination of education, experience, and training
- Eight years of aircrew training system or flight simulation device experience with military/Department of Defense engineering standards or equivalent education.
Nice to Have
- Engineering team leadership experience
- Subcontractor project management experience
- Experience in all aspects of subcontractor management
- Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
