Assist the surgical team during operative procedures by preparing sterile equipment and passing instruments, sponges, and sutures. This role involves inventory management, sterilization, patient transfer, and instrument processing.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical team during operative procedures
- Prepare sterile equipment for the operation
- Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to the operating team
- Assist with inventory management
- Sterilize instruments
- Prepare and select equipment for procedures
- Transfer patients as needed
- Perform turnover and transfer of instruments to CSPD/Decontamination
- Return equipment to proper place
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certification or satisfactory completion of an equivalent Surgical Technology training program, or a program pending immediate accreditation (Intermediate level)
- Highly motivated and organized (Intermediate level)
- Good interpersonal/team skills (Intermediate level)
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Senior Level)
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Surgical Technologist (Senior Level)
- Commitment to contributing to a positive department culture
- Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team in addition to being able to take direction
- Able to prioritize tasks quickly
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Surgical Technologist for Senior Level; experience for intermediate level is implicit in training program completion.
Nice to Have
- Experience with scrubbing any of the following: Spine, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Oral-Maxillofacial, and Thoracic
- Experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Ability to scrub all services
