About This Role

Assist the surgical team during operative procedures by preparing sterile equipment and passing instruments, sponges, and sutures. This role involves inventory management, sterilization, patient transfer, and instrument processing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgical team during operative procedures
  • Prepare sterile equipment for the operation
  • Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to the operating team
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Sterilize instruments
  • Prepare and select equipment for procedures
  • Transfer patients as needed
  • Perform turnover and transfer of instruments to CSPD/Decontamination
  • Return equipment to proper place

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification or satisfactory completion of an equivalent Surgical Technology training program, or a program pending immediate accreditation (Intermediate level)
  • Highly motivated and organized (Intermediate level)
  • Good interpersonal/team skills (Intermediate level)
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Senior Level)
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Surgical Technologist (Senior Level)
  • Commitment to contributing to a positive department culture
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team in addition to being able to take direction
  • Able to prioritize tasks quickly

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Surgical Technologist for Senior Level; experience for intermediate level is implicit in training program completion.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with scrubbing any of the following: Spine, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Oral-Maxillofacial, and Thoracic
  • Experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Ability to scrub all services
