Surgical Technician (Certified)

About This Role

Provide high-quality professional care to patients and families within the surgical suites, working under the supervision of the Surgery Leader and/or Surgeon.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon within the scope of competency and standards of practice, utilizing techniques of infection control/universal precautions.
• Wash and sterilize equipment and maintain a clean operating room.
• Rotate in the SPD area, cleaning and sterilizing instruments for OR, floors, ER, and clinics.
• Update preference cards to ensure all team members can perform procedures as per surgeon requests.
• Verify patient identity, operative procedure, operative site, surgeon, and consent.
• Apply and monitor the principles of aseptic technique throughout the intraoperative period.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policy procedure.
• Participate in the evaluation of new supplies, equipment, and/or instruments.
• Place equipment and supplies in the operating room and arrange instruments according to instructions.

Requirements

• Technical Certificate Graduate from an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C)

Qualifications

• Technical Certificate Graduate from an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years surgical experience
